This May, after 8 wonderful months of collaboration with our four European partner Schools –"Newton - Pertini" Institute of Higher Education in Camposampiero (Italy), Budapest VI. Kerületi Kölcse y Ferenc Gimnázium (Hungary), Liceul cu Program Sportiv Bacau (Romania), and Instituto N.ª Sra da Encarnação - Cooperativa de Ensino, Benedita (Portugal) – the “Implementation and Monitoring” phase of our project has come to its end. The aim of this phase was that of testing the efficacy of our new teaching method and of the various activities, which we had designed in order to develop new fundamental skills in our students.
We have now entered the final stage of the project, where we will put together a toolkit that will contain the final, revised version of our teaching sheets. We will be able to adjust our teaching sheets thanks to the data collected while monitoring the implementation phase, and also thanks to all of the schools’ feedback and best practices. Examples of the many topics covered in the SOS Physical Education Teaching Module are: sport and human rights, fair play, sport and violence, teamwork and collaboration and self-management.
Unfortunately, it was impossible for us to carry out all of the activities, which had originally been included in our teaching sheets due to the restrictions that this pandemic has imposed on all of us. However, in spite of the adversities, we have all put in 100% effort in order to get to the end goal: the creation of a new, innovative module for teaching Physical Education in schools. We have done our best in order to re-think some of the activities so that they would comply with all safety measures while still fulfilling all of the objectives of the project. We can definitely say that we succeeded in our attempt! Thanks to everyone’s hard work we can now move on to the final stage of the project.
To celebrate the end of the experimentation phase of the project, our amazing Portuguese partner, Externato Cooperativo da Benedita, put together a lovely and creative testimony of their experience with the implementation of the teaching module, a short video that we would like to share with all of you.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
